After winning the first three games of the season for the first time since 1999, ECU [3-2,1-1] has gone from on top of the world to nonexistent after critical losses to N.C. State and Houston.

The Heels take the top spot in the Carolinas after their triumphant win at Miami last Saturday. According to the Associated Press, Miami was 225-13 since 1985 when leading at any point after the third quarter, but UNC has now made that number 225-14.

ECU's loss to Houston this past Saturday proved that the Pirates' loss to N.C. State the weekend before might be more damaging than originally thought. The overtime loss to the Wolfpack completely changed the complexion of ECU's season; challenging its players to determine which direction the team would go the rest of the way.
