Krispy Kreme Challenge 2009

Photojournalists Dreier Carr, Michelle Chandler, Brent Kitchen, David Mabe, Matt Moore, Tim O’Brien, Bradley Wilson and Luis Zapata covered the 2009 Krispy Kreme Challenge on Saturday, Feb. 7.


In it's sixth year, the Krispy Kreme Challenge attracted over 5,000 participants and raised over $35,000 for the North Carolina Children's Hospital.  The race starts at the Bell Tower with a 2 mile run to the Krispy Kreme on Peace St.  Once there, challengers must consume a dozen doughnuts and race another two miles back to the Bell Tower.  The race must be completed in under an hour.
